In collaboration with PointPark Properties (P3), DHL has opened a tailor-made distribution facility 3,400 sqm operational hub to use for managing the company's growing business in the Central European countries. The facility, which features a fully automated parcel sorting and handling system. It has direct access to the tarmac at Bratislava Airport, while its location is just 500 meters from the motorways that link Slovakia, the CEE region and Austria.
The hub will more than double DHL Express's handling capacity in Bratislava. This extra capacity will be used to serve Slovakia, Austria, Czech Republic, the Balkans, and as a transit hub for other countries within the region.
PointPark Properties started construction work on the 3,400 m² Build-to-Suit (BTS) distribution facility in late April 2013. Working closely with the general contractor INGSTEEL, the new building was ready for fit-out in four months, and opened officiall the first week of December.
