Annual General Meeting 2017 and Summer Sailing Party
On Monday 26th the BCCSR had the pleasure of welcoming members and friends of the Chamber at the Annual General Meeting held at the sailing boat Žilina on Danube.
The evening included reception drinks and networking before the AGM was officially opened by BCCSR Chairman, Quentin Crossley who introduced the agenda. The reigns were then passed to the BCCSR team with Denisa Brighton, Executive Director gave an overview of the Chamber achievements from 16/17, event successes and future event plans, including how Chamber members can get involved to further engage with UK businesses. Attendees were then shown a short video which showcased all of the great work the BCCSR team have done before the main part of the evening started.
Quentin Crossley, Chairman, introduced and gained approval for the 2016 Annual Report and the 2017 Budget from Chamber members and then also received approval of the Financial Report.
To round off the formal arrangements was the announcement of winners for three awards.
Award for Services to the British Community was given to Mr John Baron, MBE, Director of the CEE Association of International Credit Directors and Professionals, for his longstanding support to the British community in Slovakia.
The Great British Business Award was won by the British International School of Bratislava who has had great business success over the last year. The school has the largest number of British employees in the city having grown from 1997 to today from 42 students to 732 students with students from over 43 nationalities.
The Annie Johnston Memorial Award for outstanding contribution went to Quentin Crossley from KPMG, the Chamber's Chairman.
The evening closed with a buffet, drinks and networking.
